Cyndi Lauper is overcome as she accepts best score for Kinky Boots as it wins six Tony Awards including Best Musical
She'll always be best known for her 1983 hit Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.
And on Sunday night Cyndi Lauper was certainly doing that as the emotional singer accepted the award for best score at the prestigious Tony Awards.
The gong came for her Broadway debut Kinky Boots, which was the talk of the night with an impressive six awards including Best Musical.

With stars including Sienna Miller, Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson looking on, the 59-year-old stepped up to the podium to accept the gong for writing the 15-song score to Kinky Boots, her Broadway debut.
'I can't say I wasn't practising in front of the shower curtain for a couple of days for this speech,' she admitted.
'I gotta thank my mom for sharing all that wonderful music. I wrecked all her Broadway musicals when I was a kid, the cast albums. That's how I learned how to sing.
'And I want to thank Harvey Fierstein for calling me up. I'm so glad I was done with the dishes. I answered the phone.'
