They could almost be brothers! Rob Lowe shows off youthful appearance as he helps lookalike son Johnowen pick a college

He is regularly spotted hitting the beach for surfing sessions to keep him fit.
So it’s no surprise that when Rob Lowe stepped out with his son Johnowen in New York on Sunday he looked anything but an aging father. 
The 49-year-old showed off his youthful good looks as he visited colleges with his 17-year-old son, who has proved he’s certainly inherited his father genes as the cool looking pair could almost have passed as brothers.

Strolling along the actor looked smart casual wearing a pair of grey chino style trousers which he teamed with an open neck pale pink shirt.

Covering his eyes with a pair of on-trend sunglasses, he looked as relevant as he did back in his Brat Pack days. 
His youngest son also took the opportunity to show off his style wearing a pair of white jeans with a navy polo shirt.

Adding a younger twist to his look he wore a pair of aviator style shades and a blue and white cap. 
The father and son looked deep in conversation as they strolled along, with Johnowen gesticulating a fair bit with his hands.
The pair clearly have a great relationship and are regularly seen tweeting each other.

Over the weekend Johnowen tweeted: ‘My dad won't stop doing his f@cking JFK voice #makeitstop’, which Rob swiftly retweeted.
It seems the pair were in New York to visit colleges as Rob tweeted: ‘The @Johnny_L0we college tour begins today!! East coast, here we come!’
And while they were in the city they made time to visit the 9/11 memorial site, with Rob tweeting a picture of them which he captioned: ‘NYC college tour tradition. #NeverForget’

While Rob may have not attended college himself his did star in the eighties classic St.Elmo’s Fire, which centres on a group of friends that have graduated from Georgetown University. 
It wasn’t just a boys’ trip though as Rob and Johnowen were joined by Sheryl Berkoff, who Rob has been married to since 1991.
The make-up artist looked dressed for summer in a loose fitting white outfit and a pair of flip flops.
Her blonde hair had been cut short and looked un-styled for the family day out.
